I did not watch the Academy Awards. As a movie-goer, it's nice to see which flicks won and for what.
1. Sean Penn: Madonna's ex-squeeze is an awesome actor.
2. Heath Ledger: Another awesome performance, well-rewarded.
3. Slumdog Millionaire: I saw this movie three weeks ago, and it blew me away. I'm actually going to write a longer commentary in this space on it as an allegory for the impact and costs of globalization . . . just no energy to do so right now.
