Happy Wireless FNU!

Indeed.

"Advanced Wireless" class today at work. I'm learning a LOT today -- both new stuff and old stuff I thought I knew that I had totally WRONG.

Like AirTunes on AirPort Express and WDS (Before class: "It's a must!"-- after class: "No Fscking Way and HERE IS WHY". Also, why WDS is not usually the best choice for multiple access points.

This tends to happen when your instructor really knows his poop.

In other news, I've unfscked the rat's-nest of USB and power cables under my desk (Time Machine external HD, USB wired mouse (wired rodent better for WoW), laptop power adapter, USB phone connection to computer, USB sync cable for Palm . . . time for a hub, methinks) and started imposing some organization on my digital, virtual and real-space life. Next, I'm setting up my external speakers with AirTunes and resetting my AirPort Express to configure as a wireless client (using knowledge I gained in today's class!) to the house wireless router.

I'm also going to tackle my closet tonight too. Happy times!

For the first time in a very long time I am feeling energetic again. I'm even dreaming vividly every night -- and not dreams of being ineffectual (like the one where I was facing down a company of British Redcoats, all alone, and my musket shots were hitting and bouncing off like rubber balls . . .) -- rather dreams of accomplishing something useful (like the alien bot I took out a model rocket and a can of SPAM turned shaped charge). . .

Back to work!
