State of the Rich 2007-03-12

Time for a general "SotR" post.

Hell-th issues: The less said about the last 50 or so days, the better. In that time, I've been sick with one or more of the following (and at one point in late Feburary, all at once):
a. Bronchitis and/or Pnumonia
b. A cracked / bruised / strained rib from the coughing with associated with (a)
c. Ourbreaks of worse stasis wounds on my legs (wounds due to vascular incompetance)
d. Horrible depression

The stasis wounds and depression are my most presistent issues of course. Close friends were invaluable in helping me through the depression; I cannot thank all of you enough Due to all of the above I misses something like 16 days of work in the month of Feburary, about a week in January and 4 days so far in March. The ulcers are treated the way they always have been, and as long as I'm careful they'll be OK.

For the first time in a long time I feel pretty good. I coughed today, and it didn't send shooting pain through my ribcage.

I think this blog will help, too. I tend to be a bit too introverted, forting up in my shell as has been my habit all my life as a shield against the things I simply cannot handle. A blog can be a lever that can help pry me out of the shell is a good thing for maintaining that elusive quality, balance. I haven't done this much writing since the salad days of my RPG articles back in the early 90s . . . back before the Internet (yes, there was a time before the Internet . . . a dark, dreary age, to be sure).

I'll be adding more links to my blogroll in the days to come, as they occur to me. Check them out, if you're so inclined.
